General Questions

Bags at Sea is a one-of-a-kind cornhole tournament cruise that brings together players, fans, and friends for sun, surf, competition, and community aboard a world-class ship. Whether you’re competing or just coming for the fun, there’s something for everyone.

You register for a local Bags at Sea qualifier, compete in a double-elimination tournament, and if you win your division, you earn a cruise prize. Every qualifier stands on its own – win that day, and you’re in.
Absolutely! Our events are designed to be welcoming for players of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds. Many qualifiers take place at family-friendly venues and encourage spectators, friends, and kids. Please note: all teams must have at least (1) adult over 25 to win a cruise, to meet cruise line criteria.

Not at all. Bags at Sea offers Competitive and Social divisions so players can choose the experience that fits them best.

Tournament Details

All qualifiers use a double-elimination format with standard cornhole rules. Games are typically played to 21 points, win by 2.

Most events include:
  • Competitive Division – for experienced or serious players
  • Social Division – for casual, newer, or just-for-fun teams

Each division competes separately.

Team counts vary by event, but most qualifiers host 30 – 40 teams, depending on venue size and lane availability.
Most Bags at Sea qualifiers run 4 – 6 hours, depending on the total number of teams and which division you are in.

Yes. Each division has limited spots and separate availability. Once a division sells out, registration for that division closes.

Payment & Registration

Entry fees vary by event and division. Pricing is clearly listed on each event’s registration page.

Entry fees are always per team unless otherwise noted.
Registration is completed online through the Bags at Sea website. Simply choose your event, select your division, and add it to your cart.

Registration closes either when a division sells out or on the posted registration close date, whichever comes first.

All entry fees are non-refundable unless the event is canceled by the tournament director. In some cases, spots may be transferable – check the event details.

Prizes & Cruise Details

1st place winner in each division:
Each qualifier awards cruise prizes. Winners earn a cabin on the official Bags at Sea Cornhole Cruise. Note: If teammates prefer separate cabins, additional cabin purchases are available through our travel partner. If a winning team has a minor, cruise line policy may dictate age requirements of the other companion.

2nd place in each division:
2nd place teams earn a Golden Ticket — free entry to any future Bags at Sea qualifier.

3rd and 4th place in each division:
Semi-finalists receive priority registration and $20 off a future Bags at Sea qualifier

ALL PLAYERS get a Bags at Sea swag bag at check-in!

This varies by event, but most qualifiers awards at least one cruise per division, with some events offering additional prizes or bonuses.
Cruise details (ship, itinerary, dates) may vary by season, and full details will be made available on the website once confirmed. All cruise prizes apply to the official Bags at Sea group sailing.
Absolutely! Winners may upgrade cabins, add guests, purchase additional cabins, or extend their stay at their own expense, subject to availability.

Of course! One of the best parts of Bags at Sea is cruising together. Friends and family can book cabins and join the experience.

Onboard play locations vary by sailing and conditions. Events may be held on open decks, indoor event spaces, or private island venues.

Rules & Eligibility

No. Teams must choose one division per event.

Division changes may be allowed before registration closes, depending on availability. Contact Bags at Sea support as soon as possible.
Yes. Tournament-quality boards and bags are provided at all Bags at Sea qualifiers. Only boards and bags provided by Bags at Sea may be used.

If weather affects play, Bags at Sea will communicate delays, adjustments, or cancellations directly with registered teams.

Event Day Questions

Teams should arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time for check-in and warm-ups.

Yes! Spectators are welcome and encouraged. Many venues offer food, drinks, and entertainment.
This depends on the venue. Bags at Sea follows all venue rules and local laws.

Waitlist & Sold-out Events

When a division sells out, it will be marked as Sold Out, and teams may be offered a waitlist options.

If spots open due to cancellations or added capacity, waitlisted teams are contacted in order.
